The historical article devoted to work of the one of the first faculties of the Department of postgraduate education of the Vladivostok state medical university. The basic directions of educational-methodical and scientific activity of faculty, stages of development of system of training and retraining of specialists are described. The faculty provides training on therapy and cardiology both on own base, and in other cities of Primorsky Krai and the Sakhalin area. Active research work on a theme «Clinical pathophysiology of the cardio-respiratory system» is conducted which results influence the practical public health.
