Для исследования противоопухолевого действия полисахаридов использовали клеточные линии мышиной аденокарциномы молочной железы C127, карциномы шейки матки HeLa, аденокарциномы толстой кишки человека SW620, аденокарциномы молочной железы человека HTB-30 и  нормальные клетки сетчатки глаза RPE. Оценку противоопухолевого и  цитотоксического действия пектинов проводили с помощью теста на метаболическую активность методом МТТ-анализа и с помощью прижизненной окраски флуоресцентными ДНК-связывающими красителями Hoechst и пропидия йодидом на живые и мертвые клетки.</p></sec><sec><title>Результаты</title><p>Результаты. Образцы цитрусовых пектинов во всем выбранном диапазоне концентраций обладали значительным противоопухолевым эффектом по отношению клеточной линии аденокарциномы C127, снижая метаболическую активность и пролиферацию клеток, а также проявляя выраженный цитотоксический эффект.</p></sec><sec><title>Заключение</title><p>Заключение. Полученные в настоящем исследовании данные демонстрируют, что реакция опухолевых клеток на действие пектинов зависит, как от типа используемого соединения, так и от чувствительности самих клеток к пектинам. </p></sec></abstract><trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><sec><title>Objective</title><p>Objective: Comparative analysis of the antitumor characteristics of different pectins and the dependency of their biological effects on the structural features and the molecular weight.</p></sec><sec><title>Methods</title><p>Methods: Cell lines of the murine adenocarcinoma of the mammary gland C127, carcinoma of the cervix HeLa, adenocarcinoma of the colon SW620, adenocarcinoma of the mammary gland HTB-30 and the normal cells of the retina RPE were used to study the antitumor activity of the polysaccharides. The assessment of the antitumor and cytotoxic actions of the pectins was made by testing metabolic activity through MTT-assay and by making intravital fluorescent coloring of the live and dead cells using DNA-connecting color Hoechst and propidium iodide.</p></sec><sec><title>Results</title><p>Results: The samples of the citrus pectins in the selected concentration range had a sufficient antitumor effect on the adenocarcinoma C127 cell line by decreasing metabolic activity and the cell proliferation, and also by providing cilinically important cytotoxic effect.</p></sec><sec><title>Conclusions</title><p>Conclusions: The data got in this study demonstrates that the reaction of the cancer cells on pectins depends on the type of the connection used and also on the sensitivity of the cells to pectins.</p></sec></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>аденокарцинома молочной железы</kwd><kwd>полисахариды</kwd><kwd>метаболическая активность</kwd><kwd>клеточные линии</kwd><kwd>цитотоксическое действие</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>adenocarcinoma of the mammary gland</kwd><kwd>polysaccharides</kwd><kwd>metabolic activity</kwd><kwd>cell lines</kwd><kwd>cytotoxic action</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Leclere L, Fransolet M, Cote F, Cambier P, Arnould T, Van Cutsem P, Michiels C.
