ESTIMATION OF THE PROTEIN-BINDENING PROPERTIES OF CALCIUM ALGINATE
Abstract
An ability of calcium alginate to bind the immunoglobulin with hialuronidaze in water solution is investigated depending on time, concentration and pH of the solution. The protein adsorption been described by the Langmuir equation. Absorption balance was found in 180 minutes for immunoglobulin and in 30 minutes for hialuronidase. Values of the maximal sorption capacity and dissociaton constants were for immunoglobulin 750 mg/g and 1.6 mg/ml, and for hialuronidase 475 mg/ g and 1.4 mg/ml, respectively. The adsorption of immunoglobulin was maximal at pH 6, and hialuronidase — pH 7.
