ON THE NECESSITY TO ADMINISTER ANTI-OXIDANT THERAPY FOR PATIENTS WITH ACUTE RESPIRATORY DISTRESS SYNDROME AGAINST THE BACKGROUND OF ABDOMINAL SEPSIS

Abstract

Based on the analysis of 55 cases of abdominal sepsis associated with complicated acute respiratory distress syndrome, the authors have shown intensification of free-radical lipid oxi-dation processes and reduction in antioxidant cell protection. As standard intensive therapy was of no effect, the authors have concluded that intensification of antioxidant protection is expe-dient as integrated intensive care when dealing with acute respi-ratory distress syndrome observed at patients with abdominal sepsis.
