Suicide poisonings with psychotropic drugs
Abstract
The analysis of suicide poisonings by psychotropic medications on a material of toxicological department of Vladivostok City hospital No. 2 in 2003-2007 (718 cases) is submitted. Among the cases women in the age of 20-39 years prevailed (73.8%). More often with the purpose of a poisoning the tranquilizers, sleeping medicines and energizers were used. The amount of poisonings by psychotropic medications and their ratio among all suicide attempts (42%) remained stable during all analyzed period. Recommendations are given in process of prophylaxis of suicide poisonings by psychotropic medications.
