Abstract

Objective. The study objective is a comparative assessment of the effectiveness of the fine-needle aspiration biopsy and excisional biopsy under the control of the electronic radial echoendoscope in pancreas disorders. Methods. We analyzed the results of the diagnostics of 30 pancreas tumors in 28 patients aged 29-76 after the fine-needle aspiration biopsy and core needle biopsy. Results. According the results of postsurgical morphological examination, and according to catamnesis data, the diagnostics accuracy (95 % confidence interval) after the aspiration biopsy fell within the range of 84-100 %o, and after the excisional biopsy it was within the range of 38.2-75.2 %o. Conclusions. The obtained data confirmed the high sensibility and the singularity of fine-needle aspiration pancreas biopsy. Its advantage is a high safety caused by the low risk of complications. The method of getting the biopsy material using the fine-needle forceps under the control of the electronic radial echoendoscope has lower sensibility and its effectiveness requires further analysis
