DYNAMICS OF GROWTH AND ACCUMULATION OF FLAVONOIDS IN REYNOUTRIA JAPONICA LEAVES

Abstract

The paper studies the dynamics of growth of Reynoutriajaponica Houtt., family Polygonaceae, and accumulation of flavonoids in raw grass during the 2nd and 3rd vegetation periods. As reported, R. japonica enters the reproductive state at the 2nd year of life, but only by the 3rd year of growth it reaches maximum indices by morphological parameters and accumulation of secondary metabolites. The authors do not recommend exploiting Reynoutria japonica before the 3rd year of vegetation.
