Dynamics of flavonoid content in Scutellaria baicalensis

Abstract

A five-year study of dynamics of flavonoid accumulation in Scutellaria baicalensis allows to make a conclusion that the optimal period of crud drug harvesting can be both the first halve of May (initial vegetation stage) or the second halve of October (final vegetation stage), which are rich in healing substances. The authors recommend harvesting during the 3rd and 4th years of vegetation when the flavonoid content reaches its maximum values. The optimal durability of plantation lasts 4 years.
