CLINICAL LABORATORY ANALYSIS OF ENTERAL NUTRITION SUPPORT IN INFANTS WITH SEVERE FORMS OF INTESTINAL ABSORPTION DISORDERS
Abstract
The paper analyses the trophic status of 22 infants aged 6 to 12 months with toxic dystrophic syndrome and reveals that the treatment formulas containing high degree of albuminolysis, and delactosed and acidified milk formulas should be widely used to provide staged nutritional support of infants with severe forms of intestinal absorption disorders. It is of the utmost importance that the individually staged nutritional support depends on both the severity of the course and patient background status, as well as infant the feeding characteristics prior to admission to hospital. The authors have developed the optimal algorithm of nutritional support for children with toxic dystrophic syndrome in intensive care units, depending on the feeding type.
