THE STATE OF HARD TOOTH TISSUES AND PERIODONTIS IN DENTAL PATIENTS WITH HALITOSIS
Abstract
The paper describes examination of 115 dental patients aged 20 to 60 years old: 50 patients with halitosis, 42 patients with halitosis and chronic tonsillitis and 23 patients without complaints of oral malodour. As reported, there is a correlation between gingivitis, periodontitis, intensity of tongue plaque, and halitosis. Both improper oral cavity hygiene and chronic tonsillitis are known to be one of the predisposing causes of foul breath.
